Family Law
Your Family Matters
Relationship breakdown is often distressing and rarely straightforward.
Our experienced family law team has a strong reputation for providing outstanding support to our clients on separation. We are experts in all areas of the law relating to family breakdown, and our specialist lawyers will give you clear and pragmatic advice to help you move forward with confidence.
When couples separate, arrangements for children and financial matters are often the most difficult and time consuming to resolve. At our initial meeting with you, we will look at the different options available to you and help you decide on the one that best suits your circumstances.
Our team’s expertise includes divorce and the dissolution of civil partnerships, as well as resolving disputes surrounding finance and arrangements for the care of children. We are experienced in dealing with high net worth matters, complex pension issues, overseas property, trusts and clients with business and corporate interests. We also advise on pre-relationship agreements, such as pre-nuptial or cohabitation agreements.
Alternatives To Court – Collaborative Law and Mediation
Dianne and Kate are experienced collaborative family lawyers, which means they are qualified to help clients resolve the issues surrounding family breakdown without going to court. To find out more about collaborative law please telephone Dianne or Kate.
Dianne and Kate are also accredited mediators. Family mediation is a voluntary process that can help separating couples settle their differences and reach an acceptable solution. Our mediators take a creative, flexible and integrated approach to mediation that offers a greater opportunity for families to find a bespoke solution to their issues by engaging with other professionals to support and facilitate both clients’ engagement in the mediation process when appropriate.
Dianne is qualified to consult directly with children within the mediation process and is a professional practice consultant supervising and supporting other mediators across the North of England.
If matters cannot be resolved outside the court process, Dianne, Kate, and Katie are experienced and respected family litigators who will ensure your position is protected at every stage of the proceedings.
